Two ESoDoc projects selected at IDFA 2014 Print

We would like to congratulate two former ESoDoc delegates for being selected with their projects for IDFA 2014: Tonje Hessen-Schei (ESoDoc 2011) with her project DRONE (in the section "Best of Fests") and Agnieszka Zwiefka (ESoDoc 2012) with her project The Queen of Silence (in the IDFA Competition for Feature-Length Documentary)!

The list of all film selected for IDFA 2014 can be found here.

Drone investigates the human consequences of the US drone war. Through unique access to voices on both sides of the drones the film follows drone victims in Waziristan as well as drone pilots who struggle to come to terms with the new warfare.

10 years old Denisa is an outcast in many ways. She is an illegal citizen of a gypsy camp in Poland, a woman in a patriarchal gypsy community and most of all – she doesn’t speak as no one has ever diagnosed her with severe hearing disabilities. She lives in a world of her own, full of rhythm and dance, imitating the glamorous women from the Bollywood DVDs she found in a nearby garbage. Dancing she can be anyone she wants, even a queen, and express what she can‘t say – joy, sadness and fear.
